NEAREST AIRPORTS

There are 4 international airports nearby; Geneva, Lyon, Chambéry and Grenoble.  Chambéry is the closest at 1 ½hrs away but more regular flights are available from the other airports ( approx 2 ½hrs drive away).  As a family, we have found flying to Geneva an easy option and organising a transfer - The Mountain Rescue Transfer company have always offered us competitive prices and never let us down. 

 

There are many other transfer companies including Cool Bus.

BY TRAIN

We love the Snow Train which leaves St Pancreas, stopping only at Ashford, giving you a hassle free journey all the way.   A note of warning  - book early - booking opens mid July!  By train, Les Arcs couldn't be easier due to its proximity to Bourg-Saint-Maurcie.   The introduction of the TGV means Bourg-Saint-Maurice  is 4 ½hours from Paris.  

 

On arrival in BSM, you can reach the resort with a quick taxi ride up the mountain.  We use Jack Celair . A cheaper but considerably longer more tiring option is to take the funicular to Les Arc 1600 and then the free inter-resort bus service.

BY CAR

From Paris - Take the A6 to Macon, followed by the A40 to Lyon and the A43 to Chambery.

From Geneva - Take the A41 to Chambery.

From Chambery - Take the A43, then A40 to Albertville.  Continue on the RN90 to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, then take the route des Arcs towards Arc 1950/2000.
